Revolver Scope Base Rail for Taurus Tracker 17 992 with vent rib barrelArevolver scope base rail in stainless chrome silver finish for the above listed Taurus revolvers.The rail has 11 ring slots which make it easier to set up eye relief and find more desired placement of scopes or red dot sights on top of the revolver. No drilling is needed. The scope rail is clamped onto the vent rib on the barrel using the hex screws and two steel tabs. The steel tab goes through the openings underneath the vent rib and clamp down by tightening the hex screws. Top rail is compatible with picatinny and weaver style rings and also will mount red dot sights with picatinny and weaver style mount.Machined from extruded aluminum alloy. If the clamping screws extrude too much and touch the barrel surface after fully tightened, use a small 6 washer under the screw. Using blue Loctite recommended and check on the screws periodically as they might become loose due to recoil. Always be sure to unload and practice safe gun handling when mounting the rail.
